PM RECEIVES FIFA DELEGATION BEARING 2019 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP TROPHY

PM Dion Ngute on behalf ot the Head of State on Wednesday April 9, 2019 received the FIFA Women’s trophy ahead of the competition scheduled to kick off in Paris , France on June 7, 2019.

The PM received the trophy from the head of the FIFA delegation led by the Head of women’s competitions, Sara Booth.
The Delegation was accompanied to the starbuilding by the Minister of Sports and physical education, Narcisse Mouelle Konbi, the Governour of the entre Region, Naseri Paul Bea, FECAFOOT president, Seidou Mbombo NJoya and Cameroon striker, Gaelle Enganamouit

The Delegation was accompanied to the Starbuilding by the Minister of Sports and physical education, Narcisse Mouelle KoMbi, the Governour of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea, FECAFOOT president, Seidou Mbombo NJoya and Cameroon's striker, Gaelle Enganamouit.

As the world prepares to celebrate the premier women's football competitionin come June 2019 in France, the government and fans are given the chance to see the most coveted trophy. 
FIFA's  head of women's competitions Sara booth who led the delegation that presented the cup to the Head of Government explained that the aim is to galvanise love and support from the fans of the lionesses.

The bronze, gold plated , polished alluminium cup weighing some 4.6 kilograms which captures the attention dynamism and elegance of women's football is coveted by 24 nations in the competition.

According to Gaelle Enganamouit, it would be a pleasure to have the cup here in Cameroon, as it is also good for the development of football in the country. Her fervent wish is to return with the to Cameroon.

However, winning the coveted trophy goes along with rigid preparation which the Indomitable Lionesses have received as confirmed by the FECAFOOT president, Seidou Mbombo Njoya.

The tour of the women's trophy which began on the 24th of February in Paris is at its 15th stopover in Cameroon Before flying to Abuja in Nigeria, on April 11, the trophy will bepresented officially to the public at the Yaoundé Hilton Hotel during a press briefing. Subsequently, a ceremonial Grassroots (FIFA Educational Program for the Promotion of Football Girls 6 to 12 years) will be organized in the afternoon at the Military Stadium in Ngoa-Ekelle, followed by an exhibition women's football match .
The cup is expected back in France by the 2nd of May in time for the beginning of the tournament.
